A short letter issued by the Inspector of the Poor for the parish of Canongate, Edinburgh, to his opposite number for the parish of Paisley, to the effect that Janet Philips of Wilsons Court 'has become chargeable as a Pauper' and that the parish of Paisley would be liable for all charges and expenses.  Printed letter with manuscript insertions, 1854.  (ref 5440)  £6.00 post-free  Not for export

Biographic and Descriptive Sketches of Glasgow Necropolis
George Blair, 1857.  12mo, 388pp, aeg.  This is not a list of monuments; rather it is a detailed history and description of the site and its surroundings with biographies of some of the more illustrious 'residents' and architectural details of buildings, monuments etc.  A well worn copy, old repair to backstrip, corners worn, top of spine worn, fore-edges out of parallel (which indicates this has been near the bottom of a pile of books for some while), contents somewhat sloppy, foxed but not seriously so.  (ref 0000)  £20.00 post-free within UK
