A short letter issued by the Inspector of the Poor for the parish of
Canongate, Edinburgh, to his opposite number for the parish of Paisley, to the
effect that Janet Philips of Wilsons Court 'has become chargeable as a Pauper'
and that the parish of Paisley would be liable for all charges and expenses.

of Calton Burial Ground
This 1841 document confirms the validation of an 1840 letter by Wilhelmina
Walken giving her daughter Elizabeth part of the Eastern part of Calton Burial Ground -
presumably a family burial plot. Manuscript on paper, signed by both the Convener
and Treasurer of the Incorporated Trades of Calton. (ref 214/48) £8.00
