[Corwen document]  Property
Deed concerning the Related Smith and Jones families
This 1858 conveyance of an acre plot
of land called Cae tan y bryn otherwise known as Cae-yn-y-bryn is a dream for
both the family and local historian.  It refers back to much property left
in the will of Erasmus Jones (d 1850) which eventually devolved to his brother
Thomas (d 1853, leaving 10 children) and his sister Elizabeth Smith (who had 6
children).  For the family historian all 16 children are named, and for the
local historian the deed contains a schedule of earlier transactions going back
to 1622 showing parties involved.   In the schedule is mention of a
court case between the two related families which the family historian will
undoubtedly wish to follow up.  Manuscript on 4 large parchment sheets,
bearing signatures of 7 Smiths.  (ref 464/36)  £18.00
