- A well established company and now a market leader in family history. It started
initially as a research company but developed to meet the needs of family historians and
now stocks and sells a wide range of family history products from books and recording aids
through to computer software. Back to Roots can be seen at Family History Fairs all over
the country on most weekends. We also offer a mail order service.
Family
History Online - A much needed search service with over 50 million UK records,
partly free, and if you want fuller details its a very modest pay-per-view service. Highly
recommended - not least because the names and places on our database of something like
11,000 old deeds and documents can now be viewed there. Oh, and there are of course the
other 50-odd million records as well. Click on the link now, lest ye forget.
The Local
History Press - Aims to promote local history in all its forms among as many people as
possible, and to encourage local historians to communicate with each other and with the
widest possible public, so that the relevance of local history to all sections of the
community can generally be appreciated. Local History Magazine is the UK's only
independent national magazine for anyone with an interest in local history. The magazine
was established in 1984 and is published six times a year, available by postal
subscription only. Every issue contains news, articles, book and periodical reviews,
readers' notices and information.
